Her coldness felt good against his lips. When they are together like this, it was bliss – his lips enclosing her rounded orifice in the most sensual manner ; and she making stirring sounds in response to his exertions. They were an indivisible pair, him and sisi. Their relationship transcended that of what most can comprehend. From the day he had set his eyes on her, he had been in love. Together they had made countless trips down melodious lanes to the depths of submerged and subverted feelings. Each time they met like this, each one gave it the best shot; creating their own little world where both wallow in utter surrender to the blissful sound of melodious music they make for each other.
But there are nights when they were not alone. Nights when they were either performing for a larger audience, or nights when they rehearsed with the rest of the boys. This was one of such nights.
He removed the trumpet from his mouth for a moment to fill his lungs with air, before putting it to his lips again and giving it a gusty blow.
The quartet that made up the Eskimos band were all there, going through the last stages of their rehearsal for the night. Spanx was the group’s pianist; Flick played the drums and Atom was the stringman in the band – strumming away on the bass strings. Together, and through the Eskimos, they have tried to improve acceptance and popularity for jazz music in the country. They had formed the band while in school some eight years ago. It had been a joke to a lot of people. Jazz was unattractive, especially when everyone wanted to listen to rap or R&B. But, they had stuck to the original plan and gone far and wide to play their brand of unattractive music. Slowly, they had gained recognition and now they were taking their music on the international stage.
It had not been easy, but it seems they are getting there. With a lot of help from their manager – a man of many faults, but one who had believed in them from the beginning and had paid a lot of their bills all over the country. Now, he had succeeded in striking them one of the biggest deals of their career – the UNICEF concert for Peace.
It was their regular rehearsal night, but tonight was even more important. The UNICEF sponsored concert begins in three weeks. Two weeks’ music and humanitarian tour of the war ravaged country of Sierra Leone. A tribute to peace, through music to heal a country ravaged by ten years of civil upheaval. It was a big break, their biggest to date. At the concert, they will be performing alongside legendary acts like Kanye West, Kenny G, Akon, Tuface et al. It was a deal of a life time – even if half of their fees had been committed to a charity.
The Eskimos are going places.
