SILENT VOICES

If we are quiet enough

We would hear the silent voices

Of those lost to the blinding darkness

Voices that cry with hollow hearts

‘Cos of dreams cut short; yet, in the wild looking

searching, hoping for ways to come back

and finish what was started but never finished

Put affairs in place for when they are finally no more

Spirits in the woods aimlessly wandering

no place to go and no life to hold

Silent voices strained and distressed

Silent voices of those lost in sudden death

If we are quiet enough

We would hear them cry in the dark

The silent, anguished voices

MERCI
