This piece was penned December 18, 2010. It was a celebratory piece and at the time meant to be privately shared with one so dear to my heart. However, I have now decided to share it here with all of you good people ….enjoy.

I saw you first before anyone

You came out radiant and bright and warm

Just like the sun at the first break of dawn;

It was a moment to behold and cherish for a lifetime to come.

So, I captured that moment to keep forever

I took you and wrapped you all up in my heart

The memory of that first sight locked up deep and intact;

A constant reminder of how you looked as a toddler.

The beauty of you was untainted

The smell of you forever engraved in my heart

I held you close for that first time and cried;

As our hearts beat in rhythmic chime to a synchronized concert.

 ****

That first time you came out

My sun so radiant, bright and full of warmth

All my fears and worries before were instantly washed out

Replaced by love so strong and disarming.

I love you my sun

You shine ever so bright everyday

The intensity of your glow radiates, warms and spurs me on

I love you so much, my sun.
