Death Served Hot and Cold

Grief came sliding down the slope
In a whoosh it came and took
Breathtakingly young lives it took
Oh! What grief came with the snow

Grief came crashing through the woods
Hot, blinding it rushed and razed
Hundreds of prime flesh charred in metal coffins
In a bid to escape the heated flood
Oh! What grief fueled by the brittle, hungry woods

Cold and Hot it was served
Blood and tears the vintage wine
Roast beef and venison aplenty in its wake
In amongst it thousands of charred flesh and cold limbs
Oh! What grief served Hot and Cold.
